  • What is the difference between Live and Outlook?

I always like they were the same. My e-mail is so old that I am still under "Hotmail" so I never used a .Live account.
Is there a difference between these or is this just for use in the Microsoft windows e-mail app?

With Outlook app you may use any email account, no matter where it is registered. If you asking about differences of Live Mail and Outlook applications then I would recommend you to take a look on their UI screenshots first. You will see a lot of differences. For sure Outlook is much stable and reliable email client. It is equipped with many options and settings. Live Mail is the lite version of the email client and contains only few options. Live Mail is very similar to Microsoft Outlook Express, which you probably already used for the years.

As previously said, I think Live mail is just the browser based version of Outlook. Outlook is a software that is specifically designed to manage emails and has a lot of functions. Live mail is more like Yahoo mail or Gmail.

It is totally wrong, Ralph. Live Mail is standalone email client provided by Microsoft by default together with Windows OS. The differences scope is high enough, Outlook is much more functional than Live Mail.
