  • How to move emails from Thunderbird to Outlook?

    Hello.

Is there a way to move emails from Mozilla to Microsoft? Unfortunately Thunderbird email software is not supported any more and I have to find the way to migrate my emails and contacts to something stable such as Microsoft Outlook. I am not trying to decide what Outlook version to use. I have installer DVD for Outlook 2013 but maybe I'll use 2016.

Hi, I know that Thunderbird supports the special add-ins which may provide some service options and the messages export as well. Check the TB addon modules, a lot of them are available for free. I believe that Thunderbird to Outlook conversion module should exist. At least you should be able to find the message exporting add-in. Outlook support the MSG format, so Thunderbird to MSG exporting add-in should help.
Another one method it's to export your Thunderbird emails to the Live Mail app and then import them to Outlook using standard import option (menu File > Open > Import....)
Here is the full article about possible methods http://thunderbird.tooutlook.com

Thunderbird storage files have mailbox format, you may want to find the free utilities in Internet. For example I Googled "free email extractor" and found several free tools for Mac and Windows OS http://www.outlookimport.com/free-email-extractor/

How about to use the Thunderbird to Outlook Converter by GlexSoft? I know it from a long time, it is surely the best tool to migrate from TB to Outlook.

Did not really know that you would need a special converter to import mails from Thunderbird to Outlook, but it does make sense, seeing as both apps come from different companies.
